how could such a lovely-sounding word make such an ugly-acting kid?
how could such a lovely-sounding word make such an ugly-acting kid?
darling, "aaawwww!"-inspiring things Eleanor did this week:
picked up a heart-shaped leaf on a nature trail, held it up to Mom and said "bye-Dad?"
turned the stuffed animal pummel into the stuffed animal hug fest, a game in which first Eleanor hugs an animal, then hands it off to Mom for a hug, and so on until all the animals in the toy box have been hugged at least once by both Mom and Eleanor, or something else more exciting happens, whichever comes first.
Eleanor's new games:
the stuffed animal pummel--gather as many stuffed animals into lap as will fit, then add a few more. fold upper body over animals in slow smooshing action, follow with rapid downward kicks. repeat.
the bedtime avoidance roll--while laying in bed, touch Mom's face lovingly and utter some sweet somethingoranother. giggle uproariously and roll violently 180 degrees on back until in position to kick wall. kick wall. repeat every time Mom reminds you it's time for "nigh-night".
the "HI" game--say "HI" in incrementally increasing decibels until someone says it back to you. insist that they say "HI" in a rapid-fire call and response fashion with you until you tire of the game. repeat when bored.
eleanor's unsolved verbal mysteries:
"idle-bidle"--water bottle?
"doo-puh-doo"--diaper change?
"oh-uh-low"--eleanor?
somebody get Robert Stack on the line . . .
Houston (and DFW, and Port Charlotte, and South Bend, and NYC), we have a walker! (that is, if taking four steps and pitching forward into Mom's arms counts as walking ;)
for those of you keeping score, not yet walking, but plenty of stumbling.
